Totes vs. cardboard

Why rent reusable bins?

Reusable totes

  • No box assembly or packing tape needed to build the container
  • Rigid sides resist crushing
  • Uniform sizes stack neatly
  • More resistant to moisture than cardboard
  • No pile of flattened boxes to dispose of afterward

Cardboard boxes

  • Need assembly and tape
  • Can soften, tear or crush when overloaded or damp
  • Mixed sizes can make stacking less predictable
  • Often require breakdown, recycling or storage after the move
  • Buying quality moving boxes adds up quickly
How it works

Pack. Use. Return.

01

Choose a package

Choose 10, 20 or 30 totes, or request a call if you are unsure how many you need.

02

Schedule

Tell us when you need the totes and we’ll coordinate local delivery.

03

Pack & use

Use the totes for two weeks. Add time if your project runs longer.

04

Return

We’ll coordinate pickup when you’re finished.

How many do I need?

Start with the project, not the guesswork.

For a focused cleanout or small project, 10 totes may be enough. Twenty gives you useful capacity for an apartment, room-by-room organization or a remodel. Thirty is better when you're clearing multiple rooms or handling a larger move. If you're unsure, tell us what you're doing and we'll help you choose a practical starting quantity.

Organizing for good?

Turn temporary organization into permanent storage.

Rain & Timber also builds heavy-duty tote storage racks that give each 27-gallon tote its own accessible space. If your rental project turns into a garage organization project, we can help with the next step.
